You start your day with the gentle sound of ocean waves in the background. A calm morning yoga session in the beautiful space at Casa Fidal eases you into the day. Afterward, you indulge in a delicious breakfast and take your time getting ready.
Then, barefoot in the sand, you walk along the beach. The warm spring sun kisses your face. The fresh wind plays with your hair as the waves sing their endless, soothing melody.
For four days, we share this peaceful rhythm: yoga, movement, nature, delicious local meals—and plenty of time. Time together or time for yourself. Whatever feels right for you.

Our retreat takes place at Casa Fidal, our newly built B&B on Portugal’s west coast. We’re designing this special space with peace and harmony in mind—every detail is inspired by the natural beauty around us.
Nestled in the heart of Bordeira, Casa Fidal offers you an authentic taste of Portuguese village life. It’s not a secluded estate miles from anywhere. Here, you’ll experience the warmth of local culture and the slow-paced simplicity of life in the Algarve.

A little about me: I’m a mother of three and have spent over 20 years immersed in the world of movement, creativity, and teaching others how to reconnect with their bodies. My approach is always warm, lighthearted, and grounded, so there’s absolutely no need to worry about being “good” at anything. This is a space for you to simply be—exactly as you are.

For the past 15 years, I’ve had the privilege of running and cooking for retreats, weddings, and parties at Oxon Hoath, a beautiful country estate in the UK. With access to the estate’s walled garden, I’ve been lucky to work with fresh, organic fruit and vegetables straight from the soil — an experience that has shaped my approach to cooking.
My culinary style is influenced by classic French techniques and the flavours of the Middle East, Spain, and Portugal. From hearty, slow-cooked dishes to healthy colorful salads, my focus is always on creating food that brings people together. For me, hospitality is about more than great food — it’s about creating memorable moments around the table, where guests feel connected, cared for, and nourished in every sense.

On the Pause Retreat, I photograph the space, the surroundings, and movement, but I also capture that which lies beyond the lens. The expression on your face when you lie back and breathe. How you are free in your movement while feeling yourself fully.
For those who wish for this, I have a Mini-Embodiment Shooting – an experience, where you do not pose, but do. Where everything gets to be: your strength, your softness, your playfulness, your stillness. I create images that touch. Images that tell you who you are and where you are.
My camera is there. You bring yourself. The rest comes from within.
As the owner of Casa Fidal, I make sure everything runs smoothly—from preparing delicious breakfasts to arranging transportation. My goal is to make you feel at home so you can simply relax and enjoy your time here.
With warmth and a dash of humor, I’ll guide you through these days, helping you return home with more energy, balance, and confidence.

Frequently Asked Questions
about the Pause Retreat
What is NOT included?
- Your plane ticket.
- Car rental (if desired)
- Excursions or activities outside the group program sessions.
- Diner (or other spendings) in Lagos.
- Private & coaching sessions (time can be reserved for these—just ask about the options).
- Travel insurance.
What should I bring?
- Yourself and your passport (because, of course).
- Flip-flops and walking shoes.
- Comfortable clothing that moves well with you.
- An outfit you feel beautiful in—and that feels good to wear.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in and check-out are flexible during your pause. On Sunday evening, you’re welcome to settle in and soak up the atmosphere as you arrive. Or take your time to unwind quietly on your own.
The retreat wraps up on Thursday evening, giving you the freedom to plan your departure on Friday at your own pace.
How large is the group?
Small, but wonderful!
We keep the group size intimate so it’s easy to get to know each other and feel seen and heard. This retreat is designed for 6 to 10 women maximum.
Can I go offline?
Absolutely—a great plan!
You can share Casa Fidal’s phone number and my mobile number with your loved ones in case of emergencies. Beyond that, it’s up to you how far and how long you want to disconnect—or hand over your phone for safekeeping.
Do I have to join every activity?
Not at all! This is your time, your pause.
However, the somatic sessions are designed to build upon each other. You’ll need to commit to these from the start, as joining later disrupts the intimate atmosphere and depth of the experience.
How does payment work?
To secure your spot, you’ll pay a €200 deposit at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due 6 weeks before the retreat begins.

Can I cancel my booking?

Yes, but specific conditions apply:
- The €200 deposit is non-refundable, regardless of the cancellation date.
- Refunds on additional payments:
- More than 2 months before the retreat: 50% refund on additional payments.
- Up to 1 month before the retreat: 20% refund on additional payments.
- Within 2 weeks before the retreat: No refund is possible.
